A mother to be deserves to have a pregnancy massage

 

Expecting a child is a wonderful thing to look forward to, but the discomfort that you, as the mother-to-be may have to go through can be quite difficult.


A good pregnancy massage can have many benefits such as helping you maintain a proper posture during the pregnancy and reducing the swelling in the hands and feet. Furthremore, this treatment can help prepare the uterus muscles for childbirth.

The best time for the expectant mother to have a pregnancy massage is after the first trimester. 

 

For a pregnancy massage you lie down on your side,  since this position is considered to be the most comfortable. Your RMT will have a pregnancy massage pillow for your comfort. The session will begin with the therapist using a neutral smelling lotion or gel. You and your therapist can choose a lotion that you would enjoy.

During your treatmant, the RMT will work on all of the areas that have been giving you pain but they will avoid working for too long on the areas near the heel and the ankle because it is known that these areas are supposed to be connected to the uterus and the vagina.

By treating yourself to a pregnancy massage, you may be better able to relax and it may even help with any sleep issues you may be experiencing, and so the unborn baby also receives benefits from the treatment.
