| All about Boot Camp |

What is Boot Camp? Boot Camp is an 80’s aerobic class blended with an Army boot camp training program. It's fun, exhausting and an extremely quick way to become fit. How Often Should I Go To Boot Camp? Most Boot camps are a month long and consist of three to four one hour sessions a week. But how long you attend boot camp and how many sessions you want to do per week all depend on how much weight you want to loose and how fit you want to be. I suggest trying one month and then reassessing. However, once you start you may become addicted to the boot camp program. I started with one month and I am now going on my fourth month. Where Do I Go For Boot Camp? Boot camps are all the rage. There is even one that runs three times a day at the end of my block. I have been going to Versus 21 in Gastown. There are now seven of us that go and we really like the personal touch the instructors give to each person in every class. Click on Boot Camp to visit their website. How Much Does Boot Camp Cost? A month ranges from $200-$300 depending on the bumber of sessions you wish to do per week, and the location. If you and a friend or two go, there is usually a discount for the group. I would suggest dropping into one or two before signing on. Why Should I Combine Boot Camp with Massage Therapy? Combining boot camp and massage therapy will allow you to work through the extreme muscle tension that comes with vigorous exercise. The majority of the exercises are multi joint or full body exercises, such as combining squats with arm curls or balance ball exercises with shoulder presses. You will be blown away with the muscle fatigue. The first week I remember walking into my office like I had wooden legs. Our receptionist broke out in laughter because I could barely lower myself into my chair. Don’t worry you'll get used to it and before you know it you'll be doing 30 push ups, 80 crunches, 40 squats followed by 10 flights of stairs and that'll just be the warm up. Yes, it’s intense but fun! |
