Brandee McInnis graduated from the Foothills College of Massage Therapy
in Calgary, Alberta in 2003. In conjunction with a chiropractor, she
practiced at a clinic in Calgary for about two years. In 2005 she
relocated to Toronto, Ontario to further her education. Now Brandee is
looking forward to settling in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Over the years she has worked with many different kinds of clients,
including athletes, expectant mothers and business professionals. She
has provided stress relief and deep tissue massage, and developed
maintenance programs specific to each individual.
Brandee is registered as a massage therapist in British Columbia, and
is excited to be continuing on her career path at the Electra Health
Floor.
Brandee focuses on treating headaches, as well as neck and back
tension. She uses many different massage techniques to achieve the
desired results, including trigger point therapy, deep tissue release,
various forms of hydrotherapy and reflexology. Brandee is a strong
advocate of a regular maintenance regime for the body. She compares
maintaining the body to maintaining a car. If the oil light in your car
comes on, you put oil in it – there’s no debate. In fact, most people
don’t need to be warned by the oil light, they take care of it well in
advance. And yet people “drive” their bodies to the point of pain or
even dysfunction before seeking “oil” - or rather, treatment. They
shouldn’t.
A proper maintenance regime is specific to you; Brandee and her clients
discuss a number of factors in order to develop an optimal treatment
plan, be it for treatment or relaxation.
Once tissue is restored to a healthy level - and that can take some
time - it is most important to keep it that way. Maintenance is an
effective way to manage physical and mental stress and to achieve a
better overall quality of life.
