Romi is passionate about helping others live pain-free, active lives, and he works hard to facilitate his client’s journey to good health using physical and spiritual healing methods. His extensive knowledge of the spiritual and metaphysical healing arts gives him a unique perspective within the Massage Therapy field. After completing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Winnipeg in 1998, Romi Topper decided to pursue a career in holistic health care. He enrolled and eventually completed the 3-year program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Vancouver.
After graduating in the summer of 2001, he began working as an RMT.
In 2002, Romi moved back to Winnipeg and maintained a full-time Massage Therapy practice in the Elmwood area, while completing his Honors Bachelor of Science in Neuropsychology in 2007, also at the U of W.
This broad education has given Romi a deep understanding of the human being, especially the importance of maintaining physical, mental and spiritual health. Romi began learning and using Japanese Reiki healing as a spiritual tool to help himself and humanity since 2006. He received his Usui Reiki Master attunement in 2007, and received his Atlantean Reiki Master attunement in February 2010. He has been practicing at the Electra Health floor since the fall of 2007, in beautiful downtown Vancouver. Romi's Practice: A massage therapy session with Romi begins with an initial assessment of your current state of physical health. Any past or present injuries and conditions can affect the type of treatment most relevant to your current physical and emotional state. Range of Motion testing and manual palpation give him the information he needs to properly treat each individual's specific condition. For some clients a lighter, more relaxing massage is indicated, whereas others require deep tissue massage. As well, conditions for which massage is contraindicated can benefit by a gentle Reiki Healing session. Romi has been an RMT for over 8 years and has extensive experience treating clients with Headaches, Whiplash-Associated Disorders, Sciatica, Tennis Elbow, Neck & Back Pain, and Disc Herniations.
Romi specializes in the following therapies:
Deep Tissue Massage Swedish Massage Reiki Joint Mobilizations CranioSacral Therapy Heated Stone Massage Trigger Point Release
Description of Reiki Healing:
Reiki is administered by placing the hands directly on, or above a client’s body within the Human Energy Field (Aura). Reiki is based on the ancient Eastern understanding that unseen life energy known as ‘Ki’ flows through us, sustains us and allows us to be alive. This Ki energy flows from the Reiki practitioner's hands into the client's body. It is common for a client to feel warmth or tingling as this energy flows. Reiki is a powerful tool for unblocking dense or stuck energy blockages within the major charkas of the body, and has the potential to facilitate positive change within a persons life at a fundamental level. Reiki induces a state of deep relaxation in which healing can occur on all levels of a person's being: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Description of Heated Stone Massage: ** To book a Heated Stone Massage with Romi, please call reception at 604-685-4325, so that adequate preparations can be made. Thank You! Heated Stone Massage is a 1 hour full-body Relaxation Massage that is performed using heated Basalt stones. Basalt is a volcanic stone that has been smoothed over millions of years by water currents. Oil is applied to the body part to be treated, and the heated stones are used to massage the muscles and soft tissue. The soothing deep heat and pressure create a very relaxing, stress-relieving experience. Some practitioners believe that the stones themselves have healing properties, and transmit the Earth's healing energies to the client during a session. At least 1-hour notice must be given to receive this treatment, in order to prepare and heat the Basalt stones for use as healing tools.
