Lyrica is fascinated by the inner workings of the human body and loves working with people to help them optimize their health – whether that means working to overcome an injury, postural enhancement, working on scar tissue or improving overall health by reducing stress. Many of Lyrica’s clients are individuals with soft tissue injuries such as strained muscles; are in the process of training for a race or sporting event; or simply wish to improve their overall wellbeing by reducing stress and relieving muscle tension. Two things Lyrica especially enjoys working on are scar tissue due to trauma or surgery, and neck pains caused by sleeping position, stress or spasms. As someone who has suffered with severe neck stiffness in the past, Lyrica can appreciate how debilitating and frustrating this type of pain can be. With reference to scar tissue, many people simply don’t realize that anything can be done about it. But that conclusion is false, massage therapy can be incredibly helpful, especially for scars that are puckered, raised or red. In addition to her expertise in massage therapy, Lyrica has completed her diploma in Bio-Energy Healing and is now a Bio-Energy practitioner and assistant trainer. In 2013, Lyrica will take her interest and skills even further by completing her Bio-Energy Teacher Training. Lyrica is part of the faculty of Utopia Academy where she is a clinical supervisor and a teaching assistant. Recently she has been enjoying assisting the students as they learn hydrotherapy – a modality that Lyrica often employs to the benefits of her own clients.
