Osteopathic Techniques – Downtown Vancouver
The osteopathic techniques practiced by some of our therapists are those taught in the British schools of osteopathic medicine. We make this distinction because of the split that occurred in the osteopathic profession in the 1950’s.
In the US, osteopaths moved away from the holistic approach. They conduct surgery and prescribe medication. However, in Europe and Canada, osteopaths practice the true art of manual medicine.
For Osteopathic Massage, We Recommend:
Myofascial release, Craniosacral, Strain Counter Strain and GOT are just some of the techniques used by the osteopathic practitioner. If you are looking for something that addresses your entire body while also impacting the troubling area, osteopathy is a treatment you should try.

What is Osteopathic Massage?
Osteopathic manual medicine differs greatly from all allopathic treatments and most alternative treatments because of its true holistic approach. Massage Therapy, Chiropractic, and Physiotherapy emerged from osteopathy.
The osteopathic practitioner assesses and treats from the perspective of the whole body and seeks to restore the proper mobility of its component parts. Attaining harmonious balance among the body’s systems: musculoskeletal, circulatory, digestive, pulmonary, neural etc., is the ultimate goal of an osteopathic treatment.
What Our Clients Say About Us
Nancy NancyNovember 16, 2024Loved everyone there. Fanny is the sweetest receptionist, so was the other guy I met on the second floor. So well spoken, sweet and welcoming. Tanner my RMT was probably the best relaxing massage experience I had. Would love to be there againOTNovember 15, 2024In all my years that I’ve been seeing (many) RMTs trying to find a right fit, I can say that I’ve never had a RMT that can do what Martina Griffiths can do for me. I always look forward to our session for a few reasons. She’s very attentive and remembers where I’m in pain, offers suggestions on how I can mitigate pain in between sessions, and then gets right in there and makes me feel brand-freaking-new. No one else compares. I’ve been seeing Martina for 7 years now, so we’ve gotten to know each other a lot during this time, and it’s really nice that she even remembers the little details from my life from all those years ago. Each session feels like catching up with a friend while getting the best message of my life. She is the sweetest person ever and truly cares about your wellbeing. I’d literally be so sad if I had to look for another massage therapist again haha. Part of me wants to gatekeep Martina so I can get more appointment times, but who am I to deny Vancouverites of feeling good?Corina CNovember 5, 2024I highly recommend Ardent (RMT) for deep tissue massage, she is very skilled in what she does and is so very kind!Valentinos DinglisNovember 4, 2024Arden is a "healer". Through her training and intuitiveness Arden identifies the areas that need to be addressed. Whether it is tightness, blockage, stiffness Arden's way will provide relief and ease with mobility.Evelyn PlattOctober 31, 2024Very informative. He was clear on what he was doing.
